Materials:

  • Hook Nº10
  • Chest: Black Foam, Orange Chenille and raffia.
  • Legs: broom fibers.
  • Wings: Sheet Acetate and indelible black marker.

Step 1: Attach firmly to the hook the black foam, previously we make a good bed of thread to keep our stuff on the hook.

Step 2: Attach broom fibers (which we use as legs) very tightly with several wraps of thread.

Step 3: Attach the chenille firmly in the rear base of our insect, then you have to walk around the back (under the foam) and continue attaching the body to reach the front.

Step 4: Stretch the foam until the hook eye and tie tightly.

Step 5: Tie the wings (which are pre-designed with an acetate sheet marked with a pin or punch down and then painted with cleaned with alcohol wipes.)

Step 6: Tie a piece of black raffia or previously painted, stretch to the middle of the front chest and back. We repeat this step leaving a couple of millimeters of difference between the folds and then tied in front.

Step 7: Return the piece of foam we had previously bound to do well with this head. We tied tightly and then make our thread eyes vertically from the skull, then finish with a knot very tight on the eye of the hook.

Step 8: Finally we shape our curved legs with a pin or stylus very little pre-heated with a lighter, and finally colored black part of the chest with a black marker.

Hope you enjoyed my first creation is, in anticipation of many more.
